Emergencies

In any emergency in Australia, call 000 (police, fire, ambulance).

Every listing's safety panel shows the host's contact number, the nearest hospital, and any property-specific hazards. Locate exits, the fire extinguisher and the first-aid kit when you arrive.

Our hosting standards

Hosts must keep listings accurate, clean and safe, with working smoke alarms and clear emergency information. Listings that fail to meet these standards may be suspended or removed.

Guests must treat homes and neighbourhoods with respect, follow house rules, and avoid behaviour that endangers others.

Anti-discrimination

Stay WA is for everyone. Discrimination on the basis of race, colour, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age or family status is prohibited. Report concerns to support.

Parties & events

Disruptive parties and events are not permitted unless a listing explicitly allows them. Hosts may set quiet hours, prohibit additional unregistered guests, and limit noise to protect neighbours.

Surveillance & privacy

Hosts must disclose any security cameras or recording devices, which are never permitted in private spaces such as bedrooms or bathrooms. We handle personal data under the Australian Privacy Principles — see our Privacy policy and your data rights in Settings.

Security deposits & damage

Some stays place a refundable pre-authorisation hold on the guest's card, released after checkout or captured for documented damage within the inspection window. See the Help Center for details.

Insurance

Hosts should review their own insurance with an agent or carrier to ensure adequate liability and property cover for short-term letting. Platform protections do not replace a host's own policy.

Reporting a concern

Use the in-app message thread to reach your host, or contact Stay WA support for safety, discrimination or policy concerns. Local authorities can report housing misuse to us.
